Chapter 1: We are Edkimo

Everyone working at Edkimo represents Edkimo. Whether it is Elina conducting a user research with teachers and students, Elina is Edkimo. Whether it is Kai restoring a backup for a client, Kai is Edkimo. Whether it is Charlotta talking to a teamadmin on the phone, Charlotta is Edkimo. Whether it is Jessica pitching our idea to cooperation partners, Jessica is Edkimo.

We listen to our customers before talking about our software. We invest the time and effort to help our users, because marketing is everyone’s responsibility. We consider how you’d feel if you were on the other side of the interaction. We are real people, not just a software.

Most of our users come from word of mouth and they are with Edkimo for a many years. Edkimo is more than a tool, Edkimo is the people behind the tool who help others teach and learn better.

We have built Edkimo with a focus on learning and privacy-by-design. This has implications for the privacy-respecting tools we use. We try to minimize our own data footprint, because privacy means empowerment.

We know that learning is more than knowledge acquisition. We embrace learning in its broadest sense of acquiring new understanding, behaviors, skills, values, and attitudes. We focus on the learning process, on wellbeing and on constructive feedback.

Finally, we are constantly learning and asking not only “what works” but “what works best”.
